Ser Seng Herbs (Turtle) Restaurant

Went for turtle soup with my family during one Sunday afternoon.

From Wikipedia: In countries such as Singapore with large Chinese populations, turtle soup is a Chinese delicacy known for its rich herbal taste. The meat, skin and innards of the turtle are used in the soup. Soft-shelled turtles (鱉) such as Pelodiscus sinensis is commonly consumed in this manner in Chinese cuisine [1], while consumption of hard-shelled turtles (龜) are often avoided due to mythical connotations associated with the latter. However, the hard shells of certain turtles are used and eaten as Guilinggao.

I've never understand why do we drink turtle soup. Many believe that this dish is an aphrodisiac or a soup that warms up the body and increases alertness. It did warm up my body somehow but its the soft gelatinous skin and shell that appeals to me most. Well... It's said to improve skin collagen too...

Sounds amazing? You've got to buck up your courage and give it a try.
